Always, always enjoy reading your words. I believe your reasoning, logic, and understanding of humanity is outstanding. I will say that my same awakening occurred in the early 80's. Never looked back at that decision. Additionally, my awakening about advertising and media overall was finely honed in 2008 to the present. Keep on keeping on Monica!
I sent it off to some ppl who were sending out email about "what we must do before we end up w MAGA" I made a few comments but I'm still, in 2024, persona non grata there for daring to remain unvaxxed. So maybe they'll have a teeny tny itty bitty shift from reading your way of eloquence.
It made me remember heated discussions in Women's Studies Classes (before it "morphed" into Gender Woo Studies) about how hard it was to talk about class for various reasons in US/academia. It's still a problem.
I love your openness and willingness to communicate and connect with people of different backgrounds and with differing viewpoints, Monica. It is inspiring.
Well said. I particularly liked: "The deeper their political allegiance, the more likely it is that someone will have a distorted views of the “other” side."
And, "Some people have lived in a distorted reality so long, they’ll never wake up. And we shouldn’t expect them to. Our jobs to give each other the courage to keep fighting. Our job is to awaken the minds of people who know something is wrong, but may not appreciate the scope of what we’re dealing with — and there are a LOT of these people."
Look for those who will or can wake up, and do your work there. Thank you.
"Stand your ground no matter what!" That's oh so important. Don't go along with everyone for fear of being ostracized. Fear is our biggest impediment. You are so right when you say "The next revolution will be in our minds." When women like you speak out--a gay woman of color--it packs a punch! That and your fantastic way with words! Keep doing what you're doing Monica! sabrinalabow.substack.com
Nice work, one must not forget: bigotry must be fought on both sides of the spiritual spectrum, for both sides are fueling division too. It goes far beyond the elites, to my opinion. There is many bigots from both sides trying to push their agendas too. The "elites" stricto sensu are overwhelmed, and manipulated...at least to some extent.
-"Our government is creating money out of thin air at a frightening pace. It’s fueling inflation that’s making our lives unlivable.
57% of Americans can’t come up with $1,000 in an emergency. Did you know that?
Black or white, straight or gay, Republican or Democrat, unless we have elite privilege, we’re ALL in a class war now that’s turning into mortal combat.
My friends, we don’t have a problem with capitalism. We have a problem with a government allows elites to abuse capitalism in a way that exploits us and destroys our quality of life.
That’s the real domestic terrorism. So why aren’t we talking about it?"
I agree that inflation is a tool designed to concentrate wealth on purpose. We have to fight this with growth. And we can do it globally!
-"All around the world, people are losing their fight for freedom. But America is the line in the sand. If we lose the battle here, the world becomes a very dark place. Because this experiment has only happened once in human history — and if it ends here, it will never happen again.
That means the next revolution is upon us, my friends. But it won’t just be a fight for America’s freedom; it will be a fight for humanity’s freedom. It won’t be a revolution in the streets."
You get the point, freedom is attacked worldwide, but I don't believe the january six insurgents to be "freedom fighters" though. They plan, in fact, to overthrow the republic for good. The guy who leaded them, and was endorsed by russian troll farms, belongs to jail, even if we must refrain from making him a "victim", a "hero" etc... We can bridge the divides, but to achieve this, we must expose propagandas on both sides of the political spectrum. ("Anti racist" woke propaganda and also "anti immigrant" far right propaganda)
-"If you want to understand why America is worth rebuilding, don’t listen to the media that tell us that America is synonymous with white supremacy.
Don’t listen to professors at elite schools who tell us that our Constitution is “outdated” and racist."
In times of despair, all primal societies, all groups, seek scapegoats. Desperation make any group vulnerable to any propaganda targeted at making this group believe being a victim of other groups.
The group of colored people is vulnerable to the "anti-racist" propaganda, while some other groups are vulnerable to "anti-immigrant propaganda".
Let's fight propaganda with hope, not words.
The Seaquatoria project, derived from the Tuvalu 51 project is well advanced now. We are closer than ever to create the fifty first state of the U.S. that can bring the much needed growth and renewal of the free world.
LOVE this post! I always learn so much from you, Monica, and always feel inspired, invigorated, and hopeful after reading your beautifully stated insights. Thank you!!

What a great speech! Thank you.
Monica, this is the most hopeful article I've seen in a while. Beautifully reasoned and expressed. Thank you.
Congratulations, Monica!

Thank you so much for this. I needed this reminder.
America may be broken, but you're helping to heal it.
So, so true!
